Six characters in search of a playwright to kick
Thursday June 4, 2009
WRITING a play is a very hard thing to do - all that coming up with characters, developing dialogue, exploring dramatic conflict. But if you forget all about that proper "playwriting" stuff, it's actually pretty cinchy. All you really need is a computer to type on, a chair to sit on, and a box of savoury crackers to snack on during the writing process. I find Arnott's Sensations are particularly good, the tomato and chilli ones really zing up your creativity. And one more thing: you need to be prepared to lose many of your nearest and dearest friends - in my case, all six of them.
