Computer Parts

You don't have to be an engineer to build a functional computer. The first step in assembling a computer is acquiring the computer parts. A computer system is usually made of a CPU case which houses several components, computer monitor or screen, mouse, and keyboard.

  • Decide on the computer casing.
Choosing what goes inside the computer casing is a major decision to make. There is a wide array of choices for computer casing alone. You can choose any color, size, and number of drive bays.
  • Decide what goes in. You must also choose the internal components and features that you want your computer to have. Consider the power supply that will best suit your computer needs. Some computers work perfectly with just 250 to 300 watts, but if you're going to be using more sophisticated video and sound cards, you may want more power supply.

Your computer's motherboard or mainboard is another important consideration. It's the core of your computer that would determine how you may upgrade your computer. Select the one that can easily be upgraded.

Another important decision to make is the computer processor. Get a processor that is fast and reliable. You may ask a computer technician on the latest processor in the market.

Another computer part that you need to purchase is the RAM. The hard drive is another thing to consider. Choose a hard drive that would best suit your needs. Choose carefully the optical drive, video, graphic, and sound cards.

  • Decide on external components.
You must also purchase a functional keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Choose the keyboard and mouse designs that you feel comfortable working on. You can also choose the type and size of computer monitor that you want.

You may purchase computer parts on the Internet, big computer retail stores, and local computer parts retailers.
